Democratic Republic of Congo protesters block a street in Kinshasa, on January 19, 2015, as they protest against moves to allow President Joseph Kabila to extend his hold on power. Three people, one police officer and two looters, were killed in the clashes between police and thousands of people protesting, a government source said. The protesters had been called into the streets by opposition leaders outraged by proposed electoral legislation that would delay presidential and parliamentary polls beyond late 2016, when Kabila is meant to step down.
