Kenya: D’Banj Works On Soundtrack Album for Hollywood Film

Superstar rapper D’Banj is the executive producer of the soundtrack album for Half of a Yellow Sun. He is working alongside legendary Yewande Sadiku and Onyeka Onwenu — who played the amazing role of Chiwetel Ejiofor’s mother in the Hollywood film Half of a Yellow Sun.
The multi-award winning artiste is set to release the first official soundtrack and music video off the album titled Bother You. The single is a love song inspired by the love story in the movie. The music video was shot in South Africa and produced by God Father Productions and DKM Media. Half of a Yellow Sun is an adaptation of the best selling novel written by Chimamanda Adichie and is directed by Biyi Bandele. The movie tells the story of two sisters, Olanna and Kainene, during the Biafran war and the effects of the conflicts on their lives and the lives of everyone around them.??

The film premiered last year at the Toronto Film Festival. It features Oscar nominee and British Independent Film Awards winner Chiwetel Ejiofor, Africa Movie Award winner Genevieve Nnaji, BAFTA Awards winner Thandie Newton, Nigeria’s X Factor judge, legendary musician and African Movie Academy Awards winner Onyeka Onwenu, Gemini Awards nominee Hakeem Kae-Kazim and African Movie Academy Awards winner OC Ukeje. The much-anticipated movie is scheduled for release worldwide in March.?
