Muffled Shouts: Sounding the African Voice against Western Imperial Thought

Talking about Africa, one is reminded that Africa does not speak, or speaks only in codes which are not Africa’s own, but in imposed Western codes that function like a straitjacket.  These codes muffle the African cries, shredding them into inaudible phantom sounds. In this process, Westerners have also hijacked the needs of African people and turned them into their own opaque and materialist desires.
